    See, lstmate knows that techno stuff! That still leaves the question on why it takes so long to load the first page. My guess was that the computer security stuff at work was examining the site for politically incorrect or "not allowed" stuff, eg you can't open Craigslist, Flikr, etc., you...

    Yes, I have problem 1, but only on my computer at work (where I am not supposed to be looking at SS anyway...:twisted:). It is a very high speed connection, but the site takes forever to load and sometimes does all the other things you describe, but mostly I get a very longlasting blank OD...

We get it, advertisements are annoying!

Sure, ad-blocking software does a great job at blocking ads, but it also blocks useful features of our website like our supporting vendors. Their ads help keep Steel Soldiers going. Please consider disabling your ad blockers for the site. Thanks!
