The detroit does have outstanding power if you can keep it around 1800RPM.A lil 6V53 has 220 horse give or take but 770 Ft/Lbs of torque at 1800.most Detroits are rated at 1800Lbs.The sweet spot.What you gotta remember about detroits is that at 1800 RPM it sounds like 3600RPM since you get twice...

well,this thing has about 20 gallons in the crank case plus the 3 or 4 gallons across 20 acres so.I got a feeling it was either a crack in teh head or O rings.Thinking O rings.
ok,Got back from a little autopsy work.Not good.Oil sprayed over an area 50 foot wide by about 500 foot long.I would say,3 gallons maybe a tad more sprayed over everything.Both sides of motor,hood,top of motor,basically everything from the cab back wall to teh bumper soaked in liquid.Checked dip...
