    A, and C, are the rear mount, and the front mount, the bracket needs clearance between b, and c for the water pump hose...... right under the area marked B is a bolt which is in the way of the tab on the rear of the new alternator, and the bracket would have to be notched to clear the rear...

    you have to re index the rear of the alternator....... the cast iron bracket is in the way, you could remake the whole lower bracket, why i did not do that I have no idea, maybe it is just because i had bar stock....... you will see, take the bracket off of the block and try it in a vise, you...

    OK, Mine is up and running, there are some changes........ First the shaft size is wrong, the std deuce alternator has a 5/8 shaft, the alt I used (22SI) has a 7/8, so i bought a pulley...... You MUST use the deuce pulley spacer from the std deuce alternator to get the correct pulley...

    I just ordered a new, non rebuilt 22SI alternator, 24 volt, 70 amp, current production for big trucks, cheap to rebuild, like 40 dollars for all the rebuild parts...... the deuce pulley works on it, it comes with the fan, and is a 1 wire hookup, all you need to run it is to hook the charge wire...

    the pulley from the deuce should be a direct bolt in swap..... I will know more today I am digging right now, it will be nice to have a near drop in swap for the guys who want a cheaper alternative than a stock item

    do a search, alternators are categorized by a "lester #" do an internet search for "LESTER 7197" it is a GM/Delco 24 volt, 65 amp alternator that has mounting tabs which are extremely close to the original deuce alternator, very minor wire mod, and about 115 dollars should get you one

    nope, no good, gotta convert it all for a 12 volt system those alternators appear to be an add on alternator to supply a 3rd stand alone battery for 12 equipment, in addition to the original truck 24 volt system, not as a replacement
