Started a thread about some receiver hitch mounts that I designed. Uploaded CAD files to the CAD Library, free for anybody/everybody is welcome to download, use, modify, whatever.
Hi wilco. Honestly, haven't given the suspension much thought yet. But in the rear, I'm definitely going to incorporate the axle chain-up brackets that I've been talking about into the shock mounts. Up front, it'll probably be something pretty straightforward, but I'll have to cycle the...
I'm finally getting around to having the new hubsteps manufactured. Should have more info about availability and pricing soon. In the meantime, I've got three pairs of the old hubsteps that I thought I'd post for sale here, at a discount. These are all brand-new, and were only installed on Mah...
That's kind of a neat idea! I guess it would accomplish the same thing as locking hubs, but would allow the driver to engage/disengage without having to get out of the truck. Only downsides I can see would be that you'd have to shorten the driveshaft (in between the two back axles) and you would...
OK. Who wants a set of hubsteps? I can sell them to SS members for $150/pr. unpainted, but including shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 - if we can get at least 25 sets pre-sold (but I won't take payment until they're ready to ship). That's about a cheap as I can make/sell these things, but at...
Thanks. That deal with the hubsteps just fell-through, and I'm in the middle of a big move (into my M109 motorhome) right now, but I'm planning on making/selling a small batch of them myself as soon as I get through this ****storm. Too much going on. Avenge makes 12 & 24V alternator brackets...
Got the first deuce hubstep samples back today and they fit great! I'm pretty happy with how they've turned out. Right now I'm talking to somebody on this forum about selling these for me, and we're still working out the details, but it looks like we'll be able to sell these for under $200/pair...
I forgot to add shock mounts to the list. I always put the most time/money/effort into upgrading the suspension on all of my off-road vehicles, and I forgot all about the shocks (lack of) on these trucks.
I spent some time looking at that yesterday, but there are some things about it that I don't really care for (like the overhang at the cab corners and the top/front edge along the windshield. Still really useful for all the dimensions, but I'd want to make some changes before I cut any parts. I...
I think you're right about those wheels, but I'm not specifically looking to go into business making Deuce parts. I'm just interested in making some cool parts for my truck, and wanted to involve other people on the forum. If I end up making a few bucks one way or another, cool.
The other...
Those steps would be stupid-simple to make, but I've got a question: Do you guys want these parts reproduced as they were, or is it worth talking about making new-and-improved versions of any of these parts? For instance, If we added four door hinges on the vertical sides, the step would be able...
I'm not only interested in making parts to sell. It would be great to have parts-files for some of this stuff that we could share, and anyone could download/use for free. Post-up some dimensions of those little brackets and let's add them to the list.
