How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

Do you currently have a stock one? There were two types. A spring one and a vacuum one. Both can be turned into an adjustable one. On my spring one I just removed the end cover and threaded the stock rod. Then I used a lock nut and washer to apply more pressure to the stock spring. The he...

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

My front one didn't move at all and the rear I had to move back and towards the fender which meant I had to cut down and rework the legs.

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I used the the one that came on my turbo. I split the can, threaded the rod and then used a washer and lock nut to tension the spring for more boost. Its my understanding that not all of them have springs in them and I'm unsure what years have them and which don't.

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I'm sure if you're running a 6.5 with a stock line no restricter is needed. I don't think everyone will need one, I just happened to be getting oil in my housing and needed one. Any speed shop, eBay, summit, etc has oil restricters. You'd need one for your line/application. i went electric...

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I used a 4an line and was getting some oil leakage into my housing and on the advice of some research an oil restricter seemed the best route. No more oil getting into my housing. The restricter hole is .065" and goes into the inlet of the turbo feed.

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

My oil feed is from the back of the block at the top drivers side. I just made a T for the sending unit and oil feed. Ended up using an oil restricter as well. I used a braided line. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i90/ilikebmx999/CUCV/CF5B1B1A-66CB-4B91-8000-D439E8E8825F_zpsyupzjexr.jpg

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I made a cover that holds 3 gauges where the dash mount was. I also put my boost gauge on a pod on the steering column.

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I put my EGT in the passenger manifold just before the turbo (there's a square cast in to it). As for no crossover, My crossover donut is leaking and has been getting worse on the passenger side and the worse its gotten, the slower my truck builds boost. I need to get a new gasket (or get a v...

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

Do these help? I used an aftermarket crossover from a 6.5. I cut the drivers end off and cut it in the middle. Don't recall how much I cut out but I only made the 2 cuts. It's pretty close to the inspection cover but doesn't touch anything.

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

Did you grab the oil return block off plate? You'll also need a feed line. I used my drivers manifold and an aftermarket crossover. I had to cut it and modify it. I think I read that even with the 6.5 drivers manifold you'll have to modify the crossover because of the trans. The stock 6.5...
