Since I can't find any obvious fuel leaks and I'm experiencing none of the symptoms above, I guess I'm going to have to temporarily attribute it to "winter blend" diesel. I'll keep monitoring the mileage and see what happens when the blend changes back. Thanks guys for all your time!

Well, I finally got to drive it a bit and check for a fuel leak. None to be found. Pulled the air cleaner off and looked in the valley under the intake manifold. Dry as a bone. No wet spots on any of the fuel line connections at the IP. Dry around all the injectors. All the fuel lines are...

Tranny fluid is new and good. I changed it when I first got it last year, the stuff than came out looked new. When this leak developed, I pulled the pan, replaced the filter, replaced the yoke shaft seal, and refilled. So, no, it's not due to bad fluid. :-D

It runs great. Very little smoke on startup. It starts quickly both from cold and hot. Pulls as hard as it ever has. Does not smoke much at all under load.

I currently run Power Service in every tank, have since I first got it. It's just disconcerting that I've lost 4-5mpg in the last 800 miles. Something must be wrong. I would think if the engine were wearing out, I would see loss of oil, blue smoke, etc. That I'm losing no oil at all really...

To be honest, there really isn't much of a color to the exhaust that I can see. If I really get on it, I get a grayish/black smoke, but very little. In fact, you almost have to a car behind you before you can really make it out. Another thing I've noticed is spotting on the back of the truck...

I thought of that too, I'm not sure if we get a winter diesel. Would that cause a ~30% drop in mileage though? That's pretty huge.

Air and fuel filter replaced recently. actually 1 tank ago. Mileage decreased even further when I did that. CDR valve was replaced approx 5000 miles ago.

I'm not sure you understand. My mileage initially INCREASED when I put the lift on. It stayed that way for several months. Now, my emissions have doubled, and my mileage has nearly halved. Something is amiss, and the lift has nothing to do with it.
