Well, if James goes with the soft top open with the .50 cal mounted, empty .50 casings dumped all over the interior of the truck would be too cool. :grd: Don't get pulled over by LE though. :shock:

I like the color better than 383 green. In person, it is a very "rich" green. It looks almost like WWII sherman tank green. Pictures hardly do it justice. Kinda makes 383 look faded or weathered.

Just talked to James. He is at a motel near Savannah GA, resting for the final leg of his journey. Everything is working well with his truck (not leaking oil or air, and shifting fine), so he should be good to go for tommorrow. I'm in Jax right now, so I'll probably visit him tommorrow if he...

Interesting, I never thought of that but it makes sense. I did mention to James that I would want to open up the inspection plate on the bell housing, possibly while having someone work the clutch while looking in there. How much can you see in there? :confused:

Just talked to James a half hour ago. He just got to his truck, and he said Jay was about 10 minutes away. They will need to clean off the snow buildup on the deuce so they can work on it.

Thanks again Jay. Hopefully the electrical turns out to be something simple. As for the transmission, James did tell me that Eastern dropped the trans to replace a rear main, so maybe its a clutch linkage problem? -Doug

Jay is on route. James is stuck around the FT AP Hill area off I95 southbound.

James (flyusn99) cell is 904-303-4261. Not sure of his exact location. I95 in north Virginia. bulldog_mack13 is on it with help from a retired deuce mechanic. Keeping fingers crossed.

UPDATE: He is now on the side of the road. He says that fifth gear got progressively noisier, and he could NOT shift out of it. He coasted to a stop on the side of the road. It is now a dead deuce.

Yeah, I told him that. He has not called Eastern, although I don't think it would do any good because of the snowstorm and such. God I hope its not an alternator. :doh:
