That was a spur o the moment thing from Craig. He called me Thursday and said he wanted to fire it. Friday I stopped by, got a TM, did some skimming and the next thing you know, there it is. There are mounts on the mantle for your bug light!
The breech block is gone and there is a ring welded in the barrel about 8 inches up from the breech.

All you local guys, there is ALWAYS a need for volunteers there. C'mon out! I am gonna see if I can persuade Craig into another Steel Soldiers day at the museum. Although it is a PITA to put batteries in that thing, i'd do it again just so others could see and hear it run. Vids should be up soon.
Had a request from Craig to get the M60 going. After a 1 1/2 hour deal removing 5 gallons of water from the battery box...the seal is gone from the top hatch... and installing 6 fresh batteries, it roared to life after 6 years of sitting idle in it's spot at the east end of tank row. The best...
