    I am glad it worked for you. I got the idea from another hobby of mine (Classic VW's) where some owners swear by original paint only and will strip it down to original removing all subsequent paint jobs. And then clear coat it or wax it to a high gloss. I had seen firsthand some of their work...

    I have heard that carefull use of oven cleaner can remove paint one layer at a time. It might get just the cover up layer off.
