    GPA / DUKW drive shafts

    Hello All! I was just wondering if any one could tell me the reasoning behind the water tight casings on the GPA and DUKW drive shafts? And why they only had them on the rear shaft of the GPA and why on the DUKW they didn't encase the last section of the rear drive shaft? Just curious.
