Well I have 315/75/16 tires no lift and pick up tail gate and I drove it to work for the first time (20 miles) no problems. Still need to fix the heater cable ( heat is on and it's going to be 90 something today) and change the steering column out ( hoping that will fix a lot of problems.
Well I worked on it Saturday that the dash all apart trying to get the light to work, fan, wipers also noticed that when I drove it around it was not going into third gear ( one more thing to fix). well I still don't have lights, wipers, and heater fan also notices the cable to the heater temp...
I drove it last night for the first time since I got it (under it's own power) runs great drives good.
I need to work on WIRING under the dash ( no fan, lights, wipers, ect.) but it starts and drives rofl:grd:
I finally got my truck running yesterday for the first time since I have own it. newer engine (to me anyway from a local fire truck) and the axles from the same truck ( M1008 ) now it's time to find a tilt column and fix the back window and let the fun begin.
oh fix a oil leak at the rad. and...
OK, so I put the rear ends out of both trucks and M1009's spring perch is about 3" wider than the M1008's. and it looks like the front may be about 3/4-1" wider.
i would have thought the pickup being wider than the blazer but I guess I need to find one to move the perches.
Newer Engine is in not running yet PO really mess up the wring under the dash.
working on rewiring so I can start it and have lights and ect.
also putting the axles from the donor M1008 under her.
Ok so I got a donor 1008 with a good engine and it has good axles under it so I was thinking of a 4" lift and 1008 axles under the 1009. my question what lift to get and will I have to do any mods to do this swap? I plan on running 37" tires
well after lots of thought and weighting all of my options on what to do with this locked up engine and what I want to use the truck for I believe I'm going to go with a SBC 350 gas so I will be starting a ENGINE SWAP THREAD soon. I did a search for one and did not fine one.
My last Blazer I had I run the 24v glow plugs and they worked great I just bypassed the res. pack run 24v straight to the relay. It all worked great. I had a ton of them too that is why I ran them.
Well I worked on the truck between fires this weekend. clean up some of the wiring and tried to start it and again it would not turn over so took the glow plugs out and tried to turn it over with the crankshaft front bolt with a breaker bar still no movement. not good
have not had time...
