    GEN2 Diode

    The diodes are originally Motorola units and can be found if you look. The Radio Shack part just happens to be a good replacement. And they usually have them in stock. If you want a new diode you can buy it elsewhere. Diode part number 1N5404 which replaces the GM part number of 12006377...

    There isn't a diode in the exciter circuit for GEN1, only GEN2.

    You are indeed missing the GEN2 diode for the exciter circuit. Part number is 12006377. It is used quite a few times on the CUCVs. It has been discused before. MKCOEN posted the Radio Shack number before when he and KEITH_J where working on the M1010...
