    That statement doesnt apply to every state. In CA they use gross and gross combined at the time. I could legaly tow a 15k lb gross empty boat trailer with a ford ranger because the trailer would be about 1500 lbs and when put on the scales wouldnt be over gross combined

    I have no clue about this guys set up, however in the LA/LB ports when a container gets damaged and they arent going to fix it on the terminal an outside contractor is called, the outside contractor uses a dodge 3500 to come pick up the containers, a lot of times the damage is to the goose neck...

    I have a few opinions on that, but Im not going to hijack this thread so Ill leave well enough alone here is my ranger, while its not as impressive (visually) of a load, my ranger is set up with airbags with 100 PSI in em (2500 lb) and F150 leaf pack. notice the gravel poking over the top...

    agreed, looks like a chassis how ever they acutally dont break springs all the time, broken springs on a chassis are actually rare becuase they generaly end in a roll over for the can chassis and UTR attached nor do we pick them up very often, and never 4 feet and a drop, you gotta remember...

    I dont know the weight on the trailer, but if it were under 1500 lbs (seen 1400 lbs in this thread) I wouldnt hesitate to tow it with our subaru, which is only rated to tow 2000 lbs, no brakes would make me a little worried, but the subaru says over 1000 lbs for brakes, so thats only 500 over.
