really appreciate all the help and advice. one question, why would the solenoid which controls the throttle stop working when I disconnect the block on the tank?

OK, I unplugged the plug going into the block on top of the tank, not the fuel pump. My mistake. Fuel level is not low in the tank.

If it is the tank pump, anyone know of a source for a replacement?

If I unplug the fuel pump in the tank the solenoid doesn't function but it runs without tripping the DC breaker.

Any help greatly appreciated!
