    If the "new" axle made grinding noises and locked up within a mile, I doubt it was from lack of oil. Also, don't count on being able to add oil to it, and it having it be all "ok". Noises and grinding in a rear end will take a rebuild to fix it. For what you spent on buying, shipping, and...

    Looks like the pins for the locking mechanism and cam. Question is, where is the rest of the cam and locking mechanism. Bad smell, howling, broken Gov-lock parts. You need to rebuild it. It will not be lasting much longer.
