    Diesels don't have any vacuum... M35A2s sure don't. Thats why we have the air compressor to operate brakes and wipers.

    For larger tanks I would used a submersible type pump... that way there is no long feed to prime.. the pump itself is in the fluid. We had them in the Navy.. they were just called 'submersible pumps' made of brass and weighed about 50lbs. But that was for dewatering a compartment. For 55...

    Problems are: You need a non-collapsible hose and they are generally thick and expensive. You need a pump that is much more complicated than a 'pressure pump' Viscosity will be a bigger factor.
