TXH3T, I just saw that on Expo. I have to say that cap works very well with that trailer. Looks good even. Plan some add-ons and you'll enjoy that. I used to camp in my truck bed with a topper like that. I cut a piece of plywood to fit in the bed, then stapled some carpet (with 2x padding)...

If you're talking about the 788's. Go back to page 3. GL had 4 of them listed this time around in Meade. Last I saw they were up over 700. I wonder what the winner(s) intend to do with them. They were sweet looking. And with some slight mods I bet you could have dropped one onto a trailer...

Yeah it would be very high my way. I tend to dream about the bells and whistles and forget about the basic logistics. Did you get around to measuring to see if the shelter wells fit over the a2 tires?

I think those 788 wheel wells would have to become tool boxes. Couple of hinges and doors and you have side access storage... I thought about it some more, and having the shelter sit on top of the bed rails will open up all kinds of options for hiding things: built in cooler, pull-out grill...

TWA, I saw them and the problem I see is too wide. The A2 is 6' wide and the 788 is 7'. Does that mean it cant be modified? Dunno. Maybe you could just drop it on top of the A2 box and that will leave underneath for even more storage. Front to back dimensions are almost identical I think...

Well it is no surprise by now that I'm not into restoration as much as modification. I have several ideas for trailers that I am doing everything I can to research. One of them is a hard top. I would like to see what others have done, from truck caps to wood to plastic tarps. Thanks in advance!
