I already have someone interested in the surge lunette. Just need to get it off and the channel welded on.

I do use one. It's about 12" tall. And the pintle is at the very top, in order to level it out. I really need it lower. Ditching the surge system, and putting the channel system on it will do that. I plan on smaller tires also. I really want this hitch to be level with the receiver, at least...

The a-frame that you made, some is from the original trailer, right? What else did you do to it, besides add the channel? Is the surge system mounted to the top that you reused?

HH, After taking the surge system off, did you notice any issues with balance when towing? Does the system, where the lunette is, add/takeaway that much weight to make a difference? Or is a length issue for the balance? I don't plan on taking the brakes off mine. Being able to set the parking...

Oh, I was hoping to do the same thing, but because some things are longer than the bed, I wanted the tailgate to lay flat. Hmmmm...

Yeah I know. Thread won't die. Two questions. How long are the cables for the tailgate and does the length allow the tailgate to lay flat, instead of stopping at 25 degree angle?

That an entirely different matter. A sadder tale for these, of course. My own trailer, needs mods just to be useful by me. As it sits, it isn't very handy. So modifying is the only way to go. They just don't make these things custom enough for regular people! But they do leave them with...

I like the idea of an adjustable hitch, but I'd like to keep the lunette. I don't really need the surge brakes, so that isn't an issue. Just need to find the right axle to replace it, and keep the same bolt pattern. That tongue stand has to go too. I'd rather have one with a wheel. Why did you...
