    Generator intermittently overcharging

    bad regulator Mine did the same thing, cold fine, drive it 3-4 miles and it would peg the needle in the red and belts start to scream. This was a new regulator after the first one died. Ended up replacing the 2nd regulator with another new one and works just fine. Alternator repair shop...
