    Doing the math in my head, which is notoriously dangerous, it appears that you're saying your receiver is only 9" off the deck? That doesn't sound right. I looked at wheel adapters and the 8-lug ones were outrageously expensive.

    I took my trailer out for the day, since it's now all legal like. I snapped a picture of the tongue/hitch at full extension. I think I could get by with only one quick-link, although in the picture I have the equivalent of two. I'm using a snap hook I already had.

    Looks good. One thing you might have missed is the safety chains. Using that pintle setup puts the trailer farther behind the tow vehicle than normal due to the angled support and the extra height. Stop by Home Depot or Lowes and pick up two or four Quick Links. Or, you could do what I did...

    The link I provided is where the pictures are. topohiker news and scroll down. The way the other guy did it was to stand them both on end and attach them, then roll one onto its wheels. So it would look like one upside down trailer on top of another.
