Well, I finally tried out the hydraulics on her today. The front winch PTO did not want to engage with the engine running, sounded like grinding gears, so I engaged with the engine off then started it. The actuator for the wind/unwind was frozen, but with a little wd-40 and some light taps with...

If it looks "factory" it was by accident, by chance I figured out that deuce bows and staves were just wide enough and tall enough to work, and I threw an old torn deuce cover over it. The cover should be a little longer but it covers almost everything, so it will work. And yeah I did it to keep...

Thanks, I think the first thing I'm going to do with it when I get the crane working is lift your truck so I can cut the trees, I mean grass, that's growing under it. Lol

It's the timing cover, not the block (thank god). I'm wondering what would have caused it to bulge from the inside enough to crack the timing cover and break the little cover, yet the motor runs great.

I think it came from up north somewhere because of all the rust and the use of tire chains which were extremely rusty, and the compartment they were in is full of rust. One of the doors actually fell off because the hinge was rusted through, lucky it was in Csm davis's hand when it happened and...

We made it, finally. No major issues, did have a few minor ones though. First thing this morning I smashed the poo out of my finger, probably gonna loose that nail. Oil leak was found to be a cracked timing cover, more on that when I get some pics. Temp gauge stayed pegged like it was...

Made it to Csm davis's compound, looked the truck over, everything looks to be in good enough working order to get home. Test drove it out to dinner to a local chinese food place, drives good. We are now camping, literally, on his driveway. Going to get a few parts together in the morning then...
