Got a wire harness for the front half of the truck. At some point I’m going to get back to work on it. First priority is the G506. Once that’s finished (or work stoppage due to parts) and the weather ain’t too bad and the sun ain’t too hot… excuses, got a million of them. One way or another...
I’ve got the time but it’s a might bit to cold to work in. I don’t remember asking but would it be possible to get paper copies of the wiring diagrams? I tried saving and printing from the pictures and it ended up looking like a spaghetti sandwich.
That little trailer would definitely fit the bill. Not too big, just big enough.
There’s a National Guard museum here in Cheyenne. They have a 155 cannon on display. I’ve thought of offering to tow it in one of the CFD parades. Not sure they’d take me up on it...
What kind of tank is that? Not...
Pictures of the installation of the fifth mount. In the 4th picture is a close up of the stack. The 800 series plate is against the frame. Since the frame has raised rivet heads, I reamed out spaces in the bottom of the plate so it can fit snug against the frame. The top plate has two spacers(?)...
Update for today: got the 800 and 900 series adapter plates drilled and installed. Also got holes drilled in the big mount plate that all other parts are bolted to. It took an excessive amount of time to get everything just right. Everything is now installed and will be bolted down tight as soon...
I’ve got a bunch of the digital TM’s for the 800’s. There’s a bunch of similarities between the M39 series and the 800’s. The 900’s are completely different.
We had some nice weather so I took the opportunity to get the 5th mount closer to being attached. The original 5th mount had a set of adapter plates, which gave a solid mount to the frame. In an attempt to make stuff work, I have a 800 series set of plates and, along with the hitch, a set of 900...
Thank you, I will get one drawn. I need to get that drawing posted. So much to do...
I haven’t gotten enough time as yet to do an in depth troubleshooting. Once Toys For Tots is over for the year, I’ll focus more on getting “The Beast” up and running.
Time for an update:got all the wiring installed. I’m having to go back and de-bug some of the connections. Yesterday I confident that I could attempt a start, so I powered up and hit the start button. It took a few revs to kick over but she ran okay for a truck that been sitting for years. Today...
Not much to report. Still trying to figure out the fuel pump wiring. Also got to figure out how to insert a small light in line to the aux pump. No wiring data for that. Got the engine shut off lever installed. What a pain. Still in work getting the throttle lever correctly installed. I think...
Finally got to work on the M52A2. The wiring is a real pain to figure out. Fortunately, I found TM 9-8028, which has a fairly complete set of wiring diagrams. Much easier figuring out which wire goes to what component.
My bad, I should have explained a little better. The pigs we have are Guinea pigs. I reread my post and realized I wasn’t clear on the pigs I was talking about. Two of my wife’s male Guinea pig’s got frisky and were beating the daylights out of each other. I thought they were going to kill each...
I’m on a temporary hold on all my various projects. Got into an argument with a pair of pigs and lost. I hope to get the stitches out early next week. After that, back to bending, beating, cutting and welding.
I was looking for something other than wiring and came across this manual. It’s TM 9-8028 and on pages 171, 271 and 282. Looks like the complete diagram. Other than that, I’m fixing my farm pro tractor (fouled fuel tank, sediment bowl and fuel filter. Cleaned everything up and she started right up.
Not much of an update. Got the pull switch attached to the shut off. Now when I get it running, I’ll be able to stop! Almost got the throttle hooked up but ran out of daylight. It’s waiting patiently for me to finish up. Part of my wiring issues was, in addition to age, some post service mods. I...
Good news! Installed batteries and very carefully touched the cable to the battery. No massive sparks, no smoke, nothing. Almost anticlimactic. Went ahead and fully connected the batteries (after replacing all four terminals). Then went around to the driver side and turned the battery switch. Op...
I printed up the M809 series schematic. It is very close to the M54 series. I’ve been able to track down wire numbers 10, 17, 27, 28, 27, and others. Still having difficulty with the no longer identified wires. It’s slow going but that’s the only choice. Get too frisky with speeding up and I...
