    I wouldn't worry that much about the fording plug. I have had my inspection plate off for about 4 years and had no ill effect. Yes, I'm sure it might let some crap in there, but it also lets me spray brake cleaner in there to clean it out too.

    The breakers are on the firewall. I don't think there is one on the starting circuit. The lights don't come on when you turn on the main power switch and then turn on the 3-lever switch?

    Yup, start with checking voltage at the individual batterys.
