    That Cabelas is awesome. I go whenever I can. You can't not enjoy it... To the comment about the dropside....I think length is the issue here, not width. Good luck.

    I looked up some specs on Edmunds, and it looks like a "quad cab" dodge 1500 with the 6' 4" bed will be somewhere around 19 feet in length bumper to bumper. I don't know the bed length of your new truck... The dodge is 6 feet and 8" wide. Hope this helps.

    Definitely a lizard, more specifically a lot lizard. They tend to live near truck stops and feed off of the souls of drivers and other scraps. Stay clear, as they may harbor dangerous diseases.

    Been there, done that...sorta. A long wheelbase will take out some of the bumps though, not make it worse. We took a single axle dump (10 tonner) and tag-along trailer to IA and back. Did just fine. Yeah, an MV will be worse, but I believe there were rougher spots, like Illinois, Indiana...

    Last time I rode I-80 DesMoines, IA almost all the way to the PA/OH boarder, (it was only in August) Iowa was fine. It is my favorite part of the drive. I take that route all the time to and from school to home.
