    Those two would be the same. New posts however is different from today's post. New posts takes a look at all the threads you currently have viewed, anything current or newly posted will display there. (New posts also runs a new query after you've been away to gather up the things you've not...

    Click on the new posts button again if you've stepped away. Hitting refresh tells the browser "refresh result seq=1234". Basically when you've been away and you hit refresh, it's trying to refresh a page with a query that has long since expired from the database.
