Don, did you put the Hot Start on your A2? I'd rather not use the ether either (??) but on the Cat, it will keep your starter from overheating.

I found that without that cold start system, that motor does not want to start when cold. At 26*F, it took about ten cycles with the starter to get it running. After the cold start valve was replaced, one shot, first cycle and it started. A Hotstart unit is highly recommended for those who...

Thanks Don, Take care of that truck, keep it clean, none of that dirt stuff on it. Watch the curbs, don't scuff the tires. Keep the dipstick (the Cat's) lubricated, and empty the air tanks every night.

Might be fine with just a jump, but if not, stock 6TLs are $150 or more each. I'd go to Walmart and get their largest CCA. Should be about $75 each.

It's so easy to drain them, why not do it? Especially when you can buy the cable type drains for $8 each.

Read the TMs on the air system, and then crawl under the truck to get a good view of how the system is plumbed. I know some folks will argue that you don't need to drain the tanks with the air dryer system, but I do, and mine are clean all the time.

I was just thinking.......... (insert lightning bolts here..), and i'm begining to like this idea. Breaking the tire down, cutting the 3/8" pipe shorter, rethreading it, and then install the 3/8"F x 1/8"F adapter with the valve, this way it would not stick out so far, and without the elbow, it...

That's odd, because each axle has it's own airline. What does your control head show when the unit is turned on? Hopefully it's something simple, but your son will have to decide whether or not he wants to spend your time and $$ to fix the system. Do you get any water or snot when you drain the...

I used the 3/8M X 1/4F and 1/4M X 1/8F adapters because no one had 3/8M x 1/8F adapters on hand. Don't know why, but I prefer the stem to be at a right angle rather than straight. The CTIS valve stems are short so you can reuse them, and they appear to be stainless steel.

I've done this to mine. You can use the valve stem that is in the CTIS valve, but you'll need a 3/8"Male NPT X 1/8" Female NPT adapter. You'll need to deflate the tire to install the valve and remove the weight at the same time. Do not need to break the tire down. Make sure the tire is off the...

All of the A3 bearings and cups are different from the A2s. The front spindles are different also. The rears are just a swap but a CTIS part epoxyed on the spindle against the backing plate has to be removed. Memphis has the kits or you can buy the individual parts from Saturn or Erik's and save...

Unless you removed the CTIS, there is an inline filter just before the elbow into the rim. Slime will booger that up. If they're leaking down that fast you should break them down and fix them.

That's what i've seen also. I've been inside five or six and they all have been bare, excpet for mine.

Do all A3s have insulated cabs? My A3 floor is fully insulated, and the soft top is insulated with about an inch or so of insulating foam (different than an A2).

Did you happen to check the steering for air leaks?
