This must have been about the time I got mine an had a lot of trouble, mostly with shipping mistakes. I received a call from Advance Adapters about the length
of the output shaft, seems it was a bit to long and causing failures. I trimmed mine to what he said and moved on.
You can adapt your old bracket with a file so that the square cable end fits in the old round hole. Just hand file it or use a dremel. It can be done just give it a look.
The wires coming from the shifter connect to the three wires you disconnected from the old shifter. Neutral saftie switch and such. I only had one connector coming off my 700r4 which I hooked to a 12v source from the gen for the lockup.
Knew there was something wrong with your pic LOL, the cross member bolts to the xfer case not the trans. All will be well when you mount the xfer case.
Cheers
Best bet call advance adapters and they can explain all. I only had the short shaft, plate 4 bolts and o ring when I put mine together. The adapter plate can be mounted to the 700r4 two ways but only fits up to the 218 one way. With this set up no driveshaft mods are required. Hope that helps a...
It was $3250.00 and if you send in your core you get a 3 yr warranty, if not 2yr warranty. I didn't get the shifter from them as I found it for $35.00 cheaper.
Well I bought from from Mike at dirty Boyz once we were able to talk, should have the trans within two weeks. Very excited and hoping for the best. Wife hardly said anything except why. She's the only reason I have this money pit :-) BowTie just had to many mandatory add ons and 4 week lead...
Well thanks for the info 90Jimmy but MME sales rep said they build them when asked where they got them, gonna leave it at that. I also got a call from Mike at dirty boyz very shortly after my post and we had a nice chat, suppose to talk more later today.8)
Well I tried again to call Mike at dirty boyz no joy, I have sent one last email. I also talked to Midwest they are pretty proud of theirs for 3999.00 plus shipping and without a core no warranty. They also say they build their trans themselves so no boyz and midwest don't get them at the same...
Thats a nice looking ride, glad the transmission is working out. I think I'm gonna go with dirty boyz as all the shops that don't offer a kit and are pretty clueless with poor customer service. I will try again to contact them besides email. I also tried the performance shops in CA with no joy.
I talked to bowtie and got a quote for 3850 or so a week ago. Pressure gauges 45.00, 255.00 for a flexplate etc, must have thought I'm a rich Humvee owner.
Well thanks for the tips, but after spending hours today on the web and talking to trans places and after reading on here for a year or so I was under impression the th400 and 700r4 were the same length and the swap would not need driveshaft mods. Novak says yes. I'm so confused LOL. Back...
I was ready to order from dirty boyz but the # I got to call is not answered when I call and the voicemail is full. Any one else have any problems with them? I checked out Bowtie, they answer the phone, but by the time you add up all the kit price is way high. Another question anyone know of...
