70 MPH,...Nope, 55 MPH reasonably quiet, turns about 2300 RPM cruising 55. I would imagine fuel mileage has increased with the additional gear, but I’ve never found a reason to calculate fuel mileage. I’m guessing you could really wrap it up and run 70MPH. I wanted to comfortably cruise...
Finally got a Tach installed....turns out I have just been babying this truck. JTB was spot on in his post about RPM and speed. I’m running like 2300 at 60. Way less RPM than I thought. Got it up to 70 no worries. Prolly not gonna run around that fast but it’s good to know it’s available.
Noting is wrong with that approach. I went with the kit because it was all encompassing. Transmission built heavy with correct output shaft to avoid adapter, new flex plate, convertor, TV cable and bracket, correct dip stick tube, new mount and all the necessary electric components for lock up...
Found the shippers invoice, as I recalled it was shipped from Northbrook IL, MME in MO is listed as the person to bill for shipping because it was free to me. The actual address in Northbrook is a shipping and fulfillment center. Northbrook Illinois is north of Chicago and 5 hours away from...
I just took a look at MME website...it looks like they no longer have the same exact photos shown on the dirty boys website. Maybe since my purchase and install in November they have gone a different route. The verbiage is still the same for both...it’s does say shipping included so you...
They do not. Mine was ordered from their web suite and shipped to my houses....the photos and descriptions are the exact same on each website. They may not be aware that dirty boys also distributes the same product. They even had to ship my core back to the original vendor after install for my...
I’ll look around for that shipping invoice, it could be around. Crazy the price has gone up so much. I paid much less than 39 hundies...you may just ask them who they source the kits from. It don’t recall them trying to keep it under wraps. Like I said before, they said a persons name not a...
You can talk to MME about the price, they are pretty easy to get along with. They told me the source of the transmission, it was a persons name. One of those names someone says that it seems like you should know who they are talking about...like maybe they are a big deal. I do not remember...
I actually ordered the entire kit off the MME website and had it shipped to my residence in Illinois to avoid paying sales tax. The shipping was free so it made financial sense. It arrived packaged neatly on a pallet, loaded it up with the truck and dropped it all off together for install. The...
It bolts right up, no drive shaft modifications... call Midwest and talk to joe. It’s the same thing, exact kit from the same place dirty boys gets it. Trust me. No mods to any drive line parts. Just needs a shifter. That’s all I had to buy
Midwest military equipment.... same photos and everything. I don’t think dirty boys actually build them, it’s a source in the Chicago area. They just offer it like Midwest.
I am curious what RMP I am actually turning...who knows I may just be sensitive to all the noise. Could be turning way less than Max RPM, I just don't like tearing stuff up. good luck with you install man, I am looking forward to reading all about it.
I have a tachometer kit but haven’t installed it yet, so I have no RPM information to share. I can now cruise 50-55 comfortably....37mph is about the shift point for the OD. It is a definite benefit, but if you’re expecting after the install you’ll be running down the interstate with traffic...
