Made it to the farmhouse in KS last night. Started the trip at 96*, ended the trip freezing to death in the mid 40's. And J woke up this morning with what I believe is a kidney stone in her one remaining kidney. Off to the hospital we go...

This was my impression as well. This is the first time it's been thoroughly heat soaked for an extended period. Thanks for your input.

Was full this morning. I didn't open it hot. Temp Guage and fan working like they should. It was just spitting small amounts of coolant, and only after idling hot for 10min or so.

Today's drive was completely uneventful. And it no longer pukes coolant at hot idle. Sold some more cans. Time to order pizza....

The truck and it's contents were still here this morning. Pretrip inspection shows no anomalies - full of transmission fluid, coolant, and oil. With no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil. One thing it is doing - it pukes coolant at hot idle. Temp doesn't go high, but when I stop for...

Simp is about 100 miles behind me. Some things Wes gets backwards- he's the one doing me a favor, so I should be buying lunch. Instead Wes bought the BBQ. The ribs were good. And I went from having zero spare tires to having three.

Fan cycling on and off like it should. Sun went down and the temp dropped and the frequency and duration of "fan on" decreased. 14.5mpg is better than I expected. This includes idling on start up and idling before shut down. I'm running 40psi in the tires. This seems like a good compromise...

I'll make timing convenient.....it won't be 0200. That's a carnac thing, lol.... Pics from today's Walmart stop. Got in about 400miles today. HMMWV running fine, cruising 55ish. 191miles on 13.2 gallons of fuel. I'd have more pics, but the phone died. Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow.....

Yeah, it is somewhat pronounced isn't it? Similarly startling in a 5ton. By the way, I anticipate stopping for the night in Springfield tomorrow evening. I have some more of those cargo covers that don't fit your truck.... :)

Departing KS 21 AUG, stopping by Wes's in Memphis and picking up a spare wheel and tire. Proceeding to Mobile AL and picking up a welder on a small trailer, continuing on to Valdosta GA. The HMMWV in question is a garden variety M998 with the gutless turd of a 6.2 and 3 speed. I'll be cruising...
