I got mine for almost HALF that price....someone stuck a fork lift in the side of it, but it was only cosmetic damage! I rolled the dice and so far, so good.
We’ll, I finally got around to load testing the 1040 today. Hooked it up temporarily to the 300’ of 1/0 quad copper feeder I was given by the local poco that I put in 2” conduit from my house to my shop. I still need to build a lean-to to cover the genny so at the moment it doesn’t stay...
Amazon prime day provided a noco 5x2 for just $89 so I couldn’t turn that down. Got it installed and the new tractor supply 51R’s (Napa kept giving me the run around). Now I just gotta wash her off, pour a pad, and wire her in to the (way too big) 125 amp transfer switch I installed next to the...
The TM claims .63gph. I don’t know at what perfect of full load that number is taken from. I’ll have to do some research and real world testing once I get it all set and hooked up.

Got the genny set on top of the fuel tank. Just need to stop by the hydraulic shop and have a feed hose made up and I’m golden. Paint is bout a half a shade off but it was a free paint job so I’m not complaining.
The painter at work (who ironically used to paint military vehicles at General Dynamics) sprayed a nice coat of military green on the auxiliary fuel tank for the 1040 today, followed by 3 coats of flat clear. I can’t wait to put it all together and then bolt the gen set on top of it! It came...
I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I called a day in advance and scheduled the pickup. When I arrived they had already moved the unit right up front by the gate. Soon as I pulled in a guy on a forklift came up and all I had to do was show him the release form I printed and brought with...
Got the frame for the aux tank welded up this afternoon, and the fittings for the tank itself arrived. Should have it together and ready for paint in a couple days!
now if the batteries will show up by then….
Do your units run a little “rough” for a minute or so before settling into a pur once they kick into generating mode? I haven’t ran it much but it seems mine does. Didn’t know if that was typical.
