Ah, I missed the part where you are installing this speedo kit. There should not be an extra 27 wire in your dash. I used the kit directions and it all went together like it should. I used both Y's. I have the tach harness in there, too. I have no extra wires. You grounded 57L to the dash...

In the instrument cluster replacement section of the TM, it shows 57L having a female rubber boot and connecting to the high beam indicator lamp. 27w to one of the gauges the speedo harness has 3 ground wires and 2 other leads. Each of those other leads hooks to a "Y". The 2 remaining leads...

What is the letter after 27 on your "extra" wire?

That could be the reason. You replaced the original lamps. Maybe those green leds dont shine to the side....

Those LEDs don't have a very noticeable difference between DIM and BRIGHT. You could try regular 24v bulbs in there. Regular bulbs shine more to the side. My dash seems to have the same LEDs, but they are not green. I didn't know the 80mph speedos have there own light. I have noticed in the...
