have you figured out a front axle for this beast yet? awesome build.

No quite the same kind of melding process but, I saw a log yarder build on a sherman tank lower frame section. had repowered it with a 8v71T going into the stock sherman trans from the looks of it. A pretty interesting piece to say the least. I think i have some pictures of it somewhere.

i guess the way i was thinking about it was running a section of plate on the inside of the C-channel, bolting it to hold it there while you run a couple full length beads down it to connect the frame rails as well as buzzing the actual joint.

how did you connect the frames specifically? did you run some plate down the rails and weld it as well as just welding the joint?

how close are the axle ratios between the 5-ton axle and the rear tandems?

NTC-400 cummins with a 13 speed roadranger, 16.00 XML's on hemtts wheels, dual stacks and air lockers....for a start.
