    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

I don't have video of the Chieftain as yet, we were so preoccupied last season with getting the LEO 1 moving...at Littlefield's she had sat so long the tranny had condensed and rusted up... so I had to source another unit, pull the engine and tranny out, and replace with a new unit. I will say...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Yep, my Leo 1 is just incredible, the most responsive tank by far, but the T-72M1 is no slouch. Honestly the Chieftain is cool due to its shear size and weight, the ground literally shakes when she moves, but its really kind of a big, slow, behemoth. It sounds cool, but the mechanics are not...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Hey Mark, Give me a PM or personal email at davebane@frontier.com I may have a BMP for you here in stock... I have 4... Finding a whole powerpack for a BMP is extremely hard, they are very much still frontline vehicles all over the world, and the spares still bring government / military...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Nope, its basically a new engine with 37kms on the clock... The difference is, its a RUSSIAN diesel... they are affectionately called, wet diesels... They like and have always used in their tanks, wide tolerances that allow the oil to lube everything... its considered a consumable, that's why...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

LEO and Challenger would be fairly problematic. To the best of my knowledge only one or two LEOs were let out... I know one was "loaned" to the Littlefield collection.. and rumor has it that one went to a collection in Jordan. I know there was a trainer or two that made it out, that...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

No, those are the "marching fuel drums" - the russians used fuel cans on the back, that could be plumbed in for use, to move the tank long distances. T-55 is awesome... we have an AM2, and a T-54 early, w/o the turret basket... both cool.

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Wow, I talked to CSX, Santa Fe, and the owners of the spur line that it would have to go through. If you have better contact info, I'd love to get it.

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Not to mention to expensive... rails was RIDICULOUS when we priced it for the T-62 move from the West Coast.

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Yeah, mental health and armor is definitely a question that could be raised! Of course not any more of one than when owning a horse or boat! LOL I can't wait to see her and the Chieftain sitting next to each other.

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Well, yes, because what most people forget is the transportation, customs and import approval, months of waiting, risk of losing your funds (happened to me 2x now), and risk of seizure, Dept. of Ag. cleaning / fines etc., and the risk that what you bought is incomplete or doesn't run. So, yes...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Actually its not illegal, it just has to be registered as a Destructive Device... it would also be pretty much impossible, as it would require a totally new barrel to be made for it... 125mm is hard to build in budget!! LOL Shipping on a 46 ton, 11 foot wide plus truck wasn't cheap...

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

    T-72M1 Finally Made It!

Hey all! Well after almost 2 years, she's finally home! Czech T-72M1 arrived day before yesterday... beautiful tank, and fantastic shape. This is a mean sounding machine... the supercharger really adds a neat exhaust note! 46 tons, 700+ V12 Diesel horsepower... nothing quite like it. Pics...
