And now for your next trick (drumroll please).
Impressive. I think I would have bumbled and fumbled and in the end, hooked it to a towbar and taken to TWright. I barely pass CUCV 102. Wish I were a college level CUCV mechanic.
It looks normal but then again, it looks too perfect. Need to break a couple of vacuum cleaner bags all over it and drive it around on a dusty road, then it will look National Guard or Army Reserve normal or active Army normal even.
Gotta tell ya, if you're worried that the shell makes it look "unmilitary", in the latter half of life for these many did have shells put on them by the National Guard OMS or UTES shops or the Army Reserve ECS or AMSA shops.
Looks normal to me.
Got the alternators back and installed them and fixed the wiring harness. For fixing the 12 ga wiring, I used butt connectors instead of the parallel ones shown in the wiring harness thread. I could find the parallel ones so I restored to butt connectors.
Anyone know if a 6.2 HMMWV water...
Ryan,
Why is it that you get the most contaminated vehicles in the history of mankind. My skin still crawls from that white pimp mobile that I picked up for you in GA. Heck, I have to go take a shower now just from thinking about it. I'm scared for life. EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Thanks, even though you did ban me, LOL.
Will have all my alternators rebuild and ensure they use the isolated ground on them.
Hopefully I only fried the two wires leading to the block. I'll replace the one wire leading to the battery. I'll splice, solder and heat shrink the one going...
Some photos of my wonderful work frying my system last night. Am I good or what. I think the alternator was the wrong type or not of the negative ground type.
What have I done with my CUCV lately?
Well, I killed the electrica system this evening. How's that for good work. REplaced the alternator, hooked up the negative and poof, sparks, smoke from the engine side of the firewall...
I checked my brake (sometimes spelled 'break') pads, checked all the fluids and traced down a short in the headlight wiring. Began work on fixing my fog lights but the it has to wait.
Ryan,
That's not the CUCV I picked up for you??
If so, what a change. I don't think I would get the heebee jeebees from that CUCV.
I still recall that white truck....I have nightmares about it. The only vehicle I had to run into the house stripping off clothes and running for the...
I figured I'd just take mine to a professional. Mine is at TWRIGHTs place and he's doing all the work to it. Besides, I can never stay home long enough to do any work myself. Back out the door in 5, 4, 3, 2, .....
