Yeah Zev, in is the override position, out is for normal operation with the switch. Matt check just above the switch there is a manual kill valve, make sure it is tilting forward all the way about 45° not inline with the fuel line or to the rear, which is the off position.
I would just check the in tank pick up and fix any leaks between that and the motor and not add complexity to the system by adding a in tank pump that will cost a couple hundred dollars, if you must put a pump in the system just add a inline pump and it will be easier to add and service later.
Okay if I were to try to fix this problem once at home I would do it with an eye towards less connections in the lines like the line from the filter to the pump it's what about 3' long and has 4-6 connections make it one flexible line with 2 connections. You get the picture and I would keep the...
