Well the motor is toast. cracks in the mains.

Its installing a 6.5 turbo setup and If i can find one a 74 front end.

This just happened. 6.5 turbo 1997 model.

So I have not updated this in a while. What started out as a new IP swap has turned in to a good sized pm project. I am replacing or fixing Heater core, hoses, glow plugs, injection pump, freeze plugs, new filters everywhere, fixing wiring, harmonic dampener , glow plugs ,rear main seal, valve...

No its a 454 Big Block Chevy. Buttttt Tonawanda is the GM plant where almost all of the big block motors were/are assembled. There is nothing special about this motor.

Matt, you might have to lengthen the rear drive shaft. ruff country is fine, I went a more custom way with parts because i wanted specific parts, i like certain companies over others. if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

Matt, I dont see why you cant, you might need to mod your drive shafts, but tons of people do the same lift on the k5/M1009 trucks all the time.

So I had some free time this morning and I decided to start the tear down of the 454. I plan to do a cam, timing chain, intake and head swap on the motor. I took the Trans off and got rid of the vacuum system and part of the smog junk, I realized I need non smog exhaust manifolds.

The roll cage is a pre-made, I found a guy on Pirate selling it and i had to snatch it up. I only know of one other person running that cage, So I do not know if its rare or not.

One 454 big block that will soon be going in the M1008, Ill post better pics in the morning.

They are 16.5 rims, white wagon wheels i painted black. I got the rims from a friend no idea where he got them.

It works lol i really have not kept track of the miles and hours on it. I guess 6k on it.

She did great i did not air down and used 2wd till i got stuck lol

I got it running I have a few small issues to deal with but so far so good. I installed new rims and tires and took it to pismo for memorial day weekend.
