Pull one of the injectors out of the engine. With it out, re-connect it to the fuel line. Make sure it is pointed in a safe direction, the pressure can penetrate the skin. Then crank the engine. It should shoot 3-4 feet. The injectors have a tiny hole and a spring holding back the pressure from...

Trial by fire lots of reading and help from jeepsinker. I was determined to get that thing running and I worked on it non stop til I did. Then I was gonna rebuild the whole truck until I stumbled on my nice ‘70 for a song. My only concern in hindsight was galling up the IP, but it did have fuel...

Same way you did last two times you did I reckon. Copy and paste the link... You're living up to your nickname a little too much and we're running out of patience. Re-read my post. I posted how far the injectors should shoot before in the thread too.

That was me back when I was learning like Derpy here trying to get my ‘62 running. It’s in the thread in my sig.

Pull an injector out of the engine, connect to fuel, GET OUT OF THE WAY, crank, see how far it shoots.

Derp, are you on the FB group?

Don't try this at home! EDIT: If your Injection pump is not getting fuel, and you run the engine on an alternative fuel source like this, you will likely destroy your hydraulic head, because it is lubricated by fuel. Video of it running on "alternative fuel supply"...

Dunno, ain't been that deep. Doubt it. Bet rusty knows. That's just a random vid I grabbed to show what I was talking about (fuel shutoff). If I had to guess, that rod is moved by the governor weights/throttle. It moves when throttle is moved with engine running.

Don't tighten the wired screws, or it WON'T be free. Need to be wired as they are.

Pull the plug out of the middle of the hydraulic head and measure how much the plunger travels up and down when you turn the engine over. Open this up and make sure it's free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faaqDjAzEmc

That's the flame heater for cold starts. Irrelevant for your starting issues. Most people delete them when they start to leak. The injectors should be shooting fuel 3-4 FEET, not inches. 3000 skin-piercing psi.

In tank pump should make 5-7 psi. Injection booster pump on the side on the IP should make 30 at idle, about 100 full throttle. Install a pressure gauge in the bleeder port on the secondary/final filter housing.

It's not a lot of fuel, it's a lot of pressure. If you don't have the injectors on for resistance, there won't be any pressure. The plunger in the middle of the hydraulic head is what pushes the fuel, so that little cylinder full is it.

Maybe some grease on the threads on reassembly. Anti seize might plug stuff up...?

Good vid. Once the injectors are on you should have 3000 psi. If you can't rig up a a gauge, I've read the rule of thumb is the injector out of engine should shoot fuel 3-4 feet. Caution: skin piercing pressure.

Pressure is only high in the injector lines after the hydraulic head ("fuel distributor")
