What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Still trying to sort out the dragging issue and some electrical. Turn signals arent wanting to work. But looks like the rear end isnt too bad and is working as it should. When I jack up the front wheels they dont spin quite as freely as the rear. Who knows, might be a transmission issue at this...

Thanks for the channel lock tip. I just need to find time and dry weather to get it done. Also noticed it seemed to be dragging. Think the parking brake may be out of adjustment again.... ugh. Spent all last summer rebuilding the entire rear brake system.

Moved around the M103A3 with the gensets to their semi permanent home. Noticed a newly formed electrical bug. Left turn signal stays on constantly, no more clicks. Is dim/nearly visible ubless left turn signal is depressed/on. Otherwise the front marker light and turn signal dont want to work...

Heres those wallet chain temp brackets. Used Ubolts to fix it more permanently. Kept it under 30 on the way home and tried to not hit any big bumps.

Mine blew a brake line... or the proportioning valve. Looks like a brake line though. Leak is right at the valve from the hose that runs along the frame rail. Dot 5 all over. Not a good thing.

Finally with some extra help, got the rear hubs rebuilt, new bearings and races. Will be finishing up the brakes and hardware tonight. Finally happy to make some progress. Did an autopsy of the old oil seals and found out that odd spring like thing in the axle was part of the seal and had...

I think I might go ahead and change the wheel cylinders as well, Im not really confident in them. I dont likw the idea of replacing the drums but I think I'd feel safer about getting bew ones. Driver side is deeply scores, passenger side is off ballanced and possibly cracked/damaged. I figured I...

Hope I did it right Well hoping I did the new hardware and shoes right. Its my first attempt at drum brakes and had no real guidance beyond the TM and youtube. So second, third, fourth opinions and so on will be greatly appreciated. Please note (as I hope this is correct) that the thicker shoe...

Got the brake drum hardware kit for both sides, red wheel bearing grease (says ngli 2 specs but for disc brakes, was all O could find rated for wheel bearings though), brake cleaner, and two rear inner oil seals. Im going to clean up everything I can lube a bit and tackle the brake hardware...

Im not really sure whats going on in there. The inside of the drum and the shoes were pretty dry. Ended up spraying the brake hardware with brake cleaner. The hub on the inside of the drum however, had some oil in there but no grease. Not sure if thats normal or not. I was going to replace the...

Finally got into the drum. Had to modify a socket to fit the spindle nut. Its not looking too pretty in there, but Im trying to find out what is causing it to keep locking up and having to adjust the screw...

Cant seem to find the right spindle nut socket for the rear hub... so a little frustrated. The prongs dont seem to fit, looks like I might have to modify it a bit.

Started tearing apart the driverside rear drum/hub to find out why it keeps locking up and needing the adjustment screw backed off constantly. Then going to do some PMCS and a little lube service. Hoping to take it to the Haspin Rally this year so I have my work cut out for me.
