What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks! I’m loving it so far. Hopefully it drives like I think it will. I did 4 tires in about 3 hours but I had some younger help and a forklift otherwise they would still not be done. I was struggling to stand it up off the floor! They still have the beadlock /runflats but at least the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I made a little more progress on my bobber project. I reconnected the glad hands and rear taillight wiring and it all works! I was off work all last week so that’s when the conversion started. Rebuilt the rear brakes while flipping the hubs and rebuilt the parking brake while the bed was off...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Test fit the 395s and MRAP wheels today. MV Parts adapters worked great!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well, I found out the steering shaft is 7/8”-20 thread …. And it’s not a normally stocked size. I tried to change the steering wheel to an 18” version and my makeshift puller that I had pushing against the nut actually crushed the threads on one side. It worked perfectly on the 53 but this one...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

here’s 2 videos of the truck running. Top speed run! Walk around This one was right after I got it running. You can see it’s not even been cleaned up and it’s still on the boat tank

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I just saw your replay this morning. I’ll see what I can do on some video clips. I’m not sure how to upload them. Here’s 2 engine shots right after I got it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

A3 is still a cool truck in my book. That looks too much like work though. I hope you weren’t in 95deg temps like we were today.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I’ll try that but I doubt it will work. Honestly, we do go to some of the local cruise ins on occasion but we’re always in my 72 K5 Blazer with the top down. Maybe next time we can take the deuce and see how that goes.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you sir! I’m rather fond of the old girl and thought those 3 were perfect for anyone stuck behind me. I really wanted a multi fuel but the gasser has a beautiful sound that’s all her own. I’m trying to convince my wife we need a bobbed A2 to park beside it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I added some yellow decals to the doors and tailgate for the “correct” ish Air Force markings. Also some additional stickers in white that I had made just for Ole Blue.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Dash mount came yesterday and I got it installed today. I’m not real happy with the lower placement even though I measured it out by the instructions. I may move the front floor mount behind the back one.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I found a decent Jerry can with a 1951 date code. Cleaned it up and gave it a decent coat of Strata blue. Mounted the freshly painted can mount and the new strap and then finally put the can in place. One more piece to the puzzle! It really makes me want to paint the whole truck. I also got the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Don’t take this as an argument but my M35 is a ‘53 gasser. There was not any mounting points for a mustache spring. (See earlier pics) Therefore I can only guess it came without one and at some point it was a revision for newer truck. The replacement assembly I installed has it and it’s...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I’m good now. The newer setup is a direct swap. I just had to get the cable nut off. Not a lot of room up there.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If you have the the short round handle style, I’m pretty sure the knurled end turns to adjust the cable pull. It’s another glorious rainy day here or I’d go take a pic of the M105 handle for comparison.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

This is the extent of the info on the hand brake. It doesn’t mention the mustache spring or have it in the illustration. Of course that doesn’t mean much either. My brake lever looks like the one in the last pic. The newer style looks just like the parking brake levers in the M105 trailer.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have the 8022 manual but I haven’t verified what it says about the parking brake. I just know my original brake assembly had no provisions for the mustache spring and the new assembly did. I don’t have a pic of the new setup. With my truck being a 1953, there are several things I’ve found that...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I replaced the parking brake shoe assembly already. I didn’t have a return spring at all but I found one that I made work. Better than nothing was my thought. The original style didn’t have the mustache spring but the replacement assembly did. It wasn’t that it was missing, it wasn’t designed...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My truck has the zerk fitting but I also have the old style curved brake handle. I have a replacement cable but it’s a newer design and requires the handle/lever replacement as well. I kept working mine back and forth and greasing it till it is almost free. The spring on the brake won’t quite...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Nice job on the hat! We didn’t get snow but over 2” of rain yesterday. I didn’t even try to move “ole Blue”. She currently doesn’t have the front axles or driveshaft but that’s next on the maintance list.
