The snow finally melted enough for the m59 to make it out of its winter parking space (no working 6x6 right now). Other than that I don't see any work getting done on deuces in the near future.:-(
Not my deuce, but a local one. Pushing the starter button would engage the Bendix but the starter wouldn't spin. It would zap all the power and spark at the batteries. We removed all the extra wiring and jumped directly to the starter and it did the same thing so we pull started it and drove...
Stripped some parts off from my recently acquired 1966 m275a2. One of the quarter fenders and probably the fuel tank will eventually end up on my m59 dump truck that is being fixed up and converted from a gasser to a multifuel. Today we removed the rotten cab with the help of the m756a2 and...
It was used as a brush truck, then returned to the forest service lot. It had a small water tank in the back that was removed. A lot of the stuff up there gets used, then they'll take the bed off and put it on another truck. The 5 ton has a nice m939 bed on it, I'm sure the m939 has the bed/...
Thursday evening Black Ops, Fredo Corleone, and myself drove to Bangor, Maine to pick up my latest deuce. We stayed at a hotel for the night and got to the yard on Friday morning. The truck's hiding behind the Mack five ton at the top of the hill.
Got in and flipped on the power and it...
I've been working on getting the new deuce ready for paint the past couple days. Finally noticed that the spare tire is on an m34/m135 style wheel, and changed out the driver's side front tire. Had to use the poor man's "geared lug wrench" (2x the power!)
Picked up the deuce today! Took the m931a2 in case there were any problems but it ran great for the 40 mile trip. It has the early Schwitzer 3ld-305 turbo, the engine is a 1973 LDT-465-1C.
Thanks, I know where a couple sides are nearby. The previous owner can't remember if he has the sides or not, maybe he'll find them when the snow melts.
