What did you do to your M37 today?

Looking great. I might cry a bit today as mine is on the plan to be picked up and go to Mullaney. Other than my 915A2 the M37 was the cleanest truck I have ever owned.

What did you do to your M37 today?

OK problem was new flap was not installed. You can see where the flap was worn out and allowed the tube to come through the flap creating a weak spot. Got the combat wheel back together with new flap and tube and locking ring nuts just tighten down some. Does any one know the correct torque for...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Woke up left front flat. Glad I had the combat wheels and Coker tires number. No tire damage area around tube valve stem let loose. Ordered two tubes two flaps.

What did you do to your M37 today?

OK since I did not read the TM I had to pull the new soft top off to align the door glass with the frame work. The front window stops had to be changed just a bit as the frame work was racked and the rear vertical piece was out just a bit too. It might be able to be done it with the top on but...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Just about finished up with the cab to window rubber both sides and all I need is one more piece. They sent me the wrong rubber as it is just a bit wider and has no channel on the bottom to account for the screws. I also decided to pop rivet mine and it is still easy to adjust if need be.

What did you do to your M37 today?

After reading all 100 threads in the M37 forum seems like I needed something else on the end of my fuel pick up. Maybe a nice screen would work nice. Thanks John at Midwest for supplying me a complete new one with the said screen. Went ahead and did a new fuel sending unit too.

What did you do to your M37 today?

Scored 5 wheels for free today. Yea rubber is no good but hay free wheels it put a smile on my face just like my stimulus check stimulated a smile. Plus Mona shipped out my new cab canvas top today. Thanks Mona at New life Canvas. Lets not forget sold 100 bucks worth of MV parts today too. Was a...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Yea believe the Z rod somewhere I was reading 1440 ppm. We will see once I put some miles on it then send it to Blackstone. The Rotella I was running and run in almost all of the other trucks was 1242 just about what I was reading also. I see why the old timers / racers switched to our diesel...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Have been reading as many threads and such on the M37 and someone posted you have to soak the leather seals before use. Well there is more to it per manual. After 30 minutes of soaking in a thin oil we must "work" the leather by rolling it with a smooth bar. We I can only guess "work" it but...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Oil and filter. When I got it the boy said to use Rotella 15/ 40 and I think that is to heavy and really not the right oil. I decided to go with Amsoil synthetic Z rod 10W30 that has high zinc. Yea it cost more but with 10K into this truck as me if I worry about it. Having fun driving it around...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Installed new mechanical fuel pump. Installed new left front wheel cylinder and brakes. Put on drum and wheel adjusted brakes. Out of all that the hardest was the dang cab to hood welting. Had to use an sharp point to make sure I was right on top of the holes in the cab to hammer in the nail...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Just saying being an old timer best place to keep the drum screws is in the drum. As said after I adjusted the brakes wheel off I just loosen the screws just a bit and had Never-Seize on them. This way I know where they are and if ever the next owner will find them there. From the looks of it...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Maybe my drums wheel stud holes are in great shape and with the hub wheel studs being in great shape my drum fits very tight to the hub wheel studs. You can also see how much area is on the stud for the drum to lock on too after the threads stop. Setup this way the drum would never have any slop...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Went to put the drum back on and without using the three screws the drum did not seat all the way on the hub. This might have given me a bad brake adjustment if I did not see it was not fully seated. I did my brake adjustment with the wheel off. I used the three screws and tighten them down...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Well all the parts came in plus my extra bearing race. Packed the inner and installed the hub seal. Got luck my FMTV hub seal tool was the perfect size to match the M37 hub seal. It does not hold it like a matching seal and tool but it was a great to catch all the seal. Started the hub seal with...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Yea the wheel would hold the drum on no problem. Think I am just looking for stuff to do to keep my mind off what is happening around the world. Also the right tools makes a easy job of it and I even did the screw that holds the shoe inspection plate on the drum. I like working on this smaller...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Engine oil and filter plus removed the bypass canister and gave it a good cleaning. Had a little brake fluid on the passenger side drum front so pulled both sides. New hub seals and will repack the bearings tomorrow when my seals come in plus new wheel cylinders. I will say those hub seals have...
