    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

You could always add these to the door: https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-M736XKADCCSEN-Hidden-Shackle/dp/B002DY7DRY/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_2/143-0983280-3562869?th=1

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

So pull out a door handle and have a key made for it. I did this like the first week I owned the truck after getting it home. I agree 100% that you need to have a key to secure the door against "honest" (Unprepared and Unsophisticated would be a better description than Honest) people. But I...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Here's a good video from Locklab showing a similar "quality" of RV lock and how easy it is to get the lock open. These types of locks are honestly an absolute joke and anyone with a wave rake can be through them in seconds: Despite what MWM charges for them, these are $90 door handles (what...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

There actually are NOT that many of these keys floating around. These trucks were not actually equipped with that style of cylinder from the factory and at the unit level the door keys are typically tossed in the trash. It's only the updated handles that used that key so the handles would have...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Why rekey them? These doors are easy to slim-jim. I don't see the point. If someone comes prepared with that style of FMTV key then it not working isn't likely to stop them. Anyone that familiar with these trucks and intent on gaining access to your truck isn't going to be stopped by changing a...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Not that hard - you just remove the whole handle. It's 2 bolts and some linkage once you get the door panel off. Can be a little tricky with the linkage clips but many have come before you and managed it so.......

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Those look the correct shape - the ones I used were 3/32" (0.095") thickness and the diagram calls for 2 per handle (4 per truck). There's a spacer plate between the two gaskets that you can salvage. There's a lot of flex to the door panel and a lot of crush to the gaskets. I needed to go back...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

I haven't found an alternate source for them. I'm guessing that MME is buying them directly from TriMark. The part numbers are: Left: 20934-01 2540-01-523-2791 Right: 20933-01 2540-01-523-2765 I found mine on a random ebay listing and they were clearly surplus.

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Well.... Not exactly. Note I said newest revision. The original handles on my 2008 used this key. And your original handles should use the exact same key (all of the FMTV's used the same key code if they had the same revision handle): I had these cut by my local smith using a cylinder I...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

A1R's already have the Trimark paddle handles. They don't need this modification.

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

No. The inside handles should both pull up. If the door handle unlocks with jiggling then the outside door handle assembly is worn out. This is what the newest revision handles use for keys:

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Just drive to an old school locksmith and have a key made. Should cost about $25. $5 for a copy if you have an original. Every locksmith should have blanks. They are Trimark locks - used on millions of motorhomes and RV's. Extremely common.
