No matter what happened, the disappearance of facial hair is a common part of the story. Seen it with gas. Seen it with diesel/denatured alcohol mix. Seen it with gasoline. Yes, something that will stay in your memories, long after dementia has taken everything else.

The TM 5-4520-256-14 and the -24P TM's are only for the H2 and H3. On the cover, it only lists H2, but a change, incorporated the H3 info also. Change #7 I think. Unless the H1 is VERY much like the H2 and H3, this TM will not be too much help.

This is the problem when everyone and his dog uses one thread to troubleshoot problems. Its super long, and 99% of it doesn't pertain to your problem. What is the TM number that is for the H81, so I do not have to look through 10 pages of comments to find it?

What model number is your heater? I have not read the whole thread, So its hard to tell you what TM to look for. But, if you look at your data plate, it will tell you what model you have and what Operators TM you need. For instance, lets say your operator TM is TM5-4520-256-14. The parts TM...

Could the "buzzing" Be the igniter, firing off, but no start? I seem to remember that after a certain amount of firing, and no flame, it will cut out the igniter, to cool it off. Hence, sometimes you hear it, sometimes you dont?
