Slave plug for MEP genset - cost effective options(?)

Now I can finish my thoughts. The Oberbefehlshaber, was exercising maximum pressure to move out. So I could not put everything down here that I wanted. We are missing something here. On my walk, I thought about it. We are fixed on the idea that the Battery charging alternator, is bad/weak, or...

Slave plug for MEP genset - cost effective options(?)

I chased a problem on a 60 KW for months. It ran a week, it ran 5 min, it ran a day, it ran 20 sec, it ran 2 weeks, and so on. Then shut off. You have a problem in the set. Its not going to go away. Its not going to fix itself. Sooner or later, its going to drive you crazy. You need to find it.

Your battery charging alternator is not putting out, or the FU-1 fuse is bad/missing. The set should run on just the battery charging alternator. Says so in the TM.

Tape works just fine. But don't be cheap with it. Tape is way more less expensive then a connector.

Mainly because the guy who made it, considered it a toy. He had free rain to loot lots of Nike/Herc equipment, and thought that it would be a good learning experience.

Amperage. 24 VDC, but Series/Parallel wired. Five Tons use 4 batteries, because starting is a tad more work. And when you are on a hill top, (some would call it a mountain, but after you have seen the Rockies and Alps..........) where it often got down to -25 or -30 Cel, and snow bung hole deep...

Slave plug for MEP genset - cost effective options(?)

We made another battery cart with 4 batteries on it. Had them hooked up, so we could jump off the 5 tons, and use all 4 batteries. If we needed to jump off a gen set, or 2.5 ton truck, we flipped a switch, and a relay cut two batteries out of the system. We could have just used a second slave...

Slave plug for MEP genset - cost effective options(?)

We made a cart. Used battery hold downs to secure the batteries, and took a Slave Plug and mounted it on a bracket. Hooked the Slave Plug to the batteries and then we could use a stink normal Slave Cable. Then later we made a holder for the cable, and mounted it to a bracket. We used wheels...
