    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I’m pretty sure if I remember correctly back that far that the main issue was the in tank lift pump was clogged with debris. All of the fuel filters needed changed even though I do remeber that they were not that old, but I’m sure it’s definitely due to sediment that was still left in the fuel...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I'm gonna be very careful till I order my pyro gauge this weekend. I apologize not checking out your link to the thread Ray, but I just did and it was very helpful getting some facts straight that I didn't know.

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Okay so here it goes, the rain today kept me from making any progress, but I tried something that a Vietnam mechanic told me at a car show this past Friday, two days before my stalling issue. He told me about the quarter trick on the IP. So I though what the heck I'll try it I got nothing to...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

The fdc isn't bypassed, it's all there and hooked up. I have it currently 5% diesel and 95% oil at all different consistencies

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I know I should have mentioned this way earlier in the thread so please don't bash me because I forgot, would running clean used motor oil have anything to do with my problem? Maybe the HH is acting like it's starving for fuel because the oil is to thick to run through it? Just still trying to...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I'm not gonna admit defeat yet, I'm gonna start checking pressures and tear into the pump a little

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I'll have to check that out, see if I can't track one down. It would be nice to keep all the same gauge.

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

That is such a great idea! I actually have an old mech gauge laying on one of my shelfs somewhere and I know it works. I'll have to plumb that in to the filter housing, because your right, that is the last thing I need to happened is fry a HH. It will give me a piece of mind when driving long...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

    I did see that in the tm plus I found the specs on what the pressures should be, correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I found: Delivery valve opening pressure . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .250-400 psi O v e r f l o w p r e s s u r e . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 psi...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

That's something else I will do today, I'm gonna check all my fittings to see if any are loose. Plus check all my rubber hoses near the engine, one thing i haven't scrutinized yet. At least I know everything on the fuel tank and fuel pump are tight, so no worries there, but as far as the oil...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Definelty will do a pressure test too, good thing I just bought a new snap on tester. Do you mean is the truck building oil pressure? Because it is when I go to start it it's at 30psi, and when it's at idle it's at 45-55psi, and that has a brand new gauge and sending unit also. They didn't work...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Okay, compression test isn't a bad idea since I'm right there, still would like to check the valves just for p.m. As far as the injectors, I'm gonna have to look at the tm to test them because I don't have a clue to know if there bad, but just for the sake of asking, is it a day job on...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Forgot the second part of your question, yes it only stalled when it's was hot like climbing a small hill on the highway then turning off the exit ramp to the stop light it stalled when I drifted in neutral to the light.

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I guess I can give it a shot and reuse them but I'll still have the gaskets on the shelf for my sanity. When it's a cold start up, I know it might be a problem too, but I have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start. Usually takes 10-20 seconds or so to start, and usually when it does...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I'm gonna hold off on the hydraulic head for right now until I get the valves checked, and I did see there is a great thread on here for removing, rebuilding, reinstalling the hydraulic head. I checked the price of them new or rebuilt, and it's not something in my budget right now, but if it...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I gotta say that is so true in so many ways, I got a good laugh outta that!

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

I wanna give everyone a status update, yesterday I took off all the fuel filters and replaced them with stock ones. I forgot I was given a filter replacement kit when I bought the truck. The filters weren't too dirty, but I replaced them anyway, but there was a fair amount of sediment at the...

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

Never though of that, when I get home, I'm gonna pop the cover off and check them, it's just kinda baffling when the truck runs so good and dies out when it gets hot, but makes sense if the clearance is off, thanks!

    M35a2 stalling when hot?

The tank was just under 3/4 of a tank, but I do feel safe with my fuel gauge, the gauge is new plus I cleaned the sending unit contact very gently and very well when I had the fuel pump out and it works well just because I like to take long trips, I did check the pickup tube when I pulled the...
