Thats part of it... these sets are DESIGNED to run at full output, for as long as you have fuel. Their optimum burn parameters are under this load set, so the chemicals in Seafoam will work better if the set is up to its proper running temperature and conditions. 50% is better than nothing though.
The best thing you can do for the set is just run the whole can through the machine and the fuel in it, under a load at LEAST 40%. The closer you can get to full load, the better the job Seafoam will do to your entire fuel system.
The vent is in the fuel cap. Its a little bar that has two positions (closed and open). You would just close it if you were travelling with chance of fording.
Take the cap off and just look at the underside, you will see it.
Turn the switch to prime + run so you hear the pumps cycling, but don't crank it. Just let it run for a while in this state (your batteries will be fine, if they are in good condition already).
