    The 34/78 is the OEM size, but for my inventory needs its way easier to just stock a single size that fits both 802s and 803s. I have not found any performance difference to speak of with the different size.

    Yup. The least expensive AGM I have found that works well in this is the Champion AGM Group 51R https://www.pepboys.com/champion-agm-battery-group-size-51r/product/2071617 Lead acid batteries work fine for this too, never hurts to keep whatever technology you go with on a battery tender...

    Do yourself a favor in the future... punch a 2" hole somewhere in the case of the machine and install one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ANV81S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It will allow you to place a battery tender in the machine so this doesn't happen again.
