My front axle spewing air in diff lock mode has been fixed! Actually it healed itself like someone said it might, I just let it sit a few months and came back and no air coming out. I guess whatever solenoid got stuck is now unstuck.
Posted this on benzworld too but wanted to get feedback on if anyone has replaced this seal before and had tips/writeup/challenge-level info. Has oil and air leaking out of it. I posted about this a few months back but at that time wasn't sure where the leak was from. This is front driverside axle
I like that idea but with the rock grinding and environment I'll be in I think I need that part working. Also it was leaking tons of oil even before the audible air leak became an added problem.
Gentlemen, I need some help. I am still dealing w/ the leaking front driver wheel seal that started out oily and now spews air when I turn on 4x4. Due to some family issues w/ an ailing mother I'm not able to take this apart and work on it right now. Is there a shop near San Antonio or Austin...
Does anyone have the jackhammer bit for sale that is not the pointing one, not the spade but, but the chisel but that goes in the back of the tool tray? Thanks to Stoik I now have the tray but am aware I'm missing a bit. Is there a commercial one that would fill the space?
There's really oil all over the whole area at this point. A new development - when I turn off the unimog after using 4WD, a very noticeable air leak is emanating from the axle.
Here are some photos of the first time using my backhoe. Also I learned that this rock weighs more than the backhoe or front loader can dead lift, so I just used 4wd and pushed it where I wanted it to go.
Thank you so much! I would have never figured that out. I don't understand mechanically how that can possibly work but it does in fact work. Now I can use my backhoe. I took out a bunch of cedar trees outside my fence line today to prevent a burgeoning band of local criminals from using it as...
Backehoe cannot lock vertically for stow / travel position.
Need advice for my backhoe problem. I had the right boom cylinder seals replaced because it was gushing oil. I thought that was why I could not get the boom to erect high enough to lock into the vertical position with the little circle...
Or, could someone send me a top-down photo of it so I Can see the layout better? I could almost see me putting together a wooden tray with either cleats or routed out sections to hold things together.
Thanks for this info. I will probably do some kind of heat formed ABS sheet or something. Maybe I can just lay the tools out on the bench, put a sheet of ABS over it and heat it with a heat gun until it relaxes over the group of tools. I really want to keep them with the unit but the thought of...
Does anyone know where or how to get the bit/tool holding thing that goes into the side toolbox? I think it's some kind of molded plastic or something. But I can't really carry my tools properly without it it seems because they rattle around.
Also, the clamps that hold up the jackhammer and...
I'm having a hard time determining where exactly this portal axle leak is coming from and thus how to fix it or what part I need? It's the front driver's side axle.
The other axles don't have any grease on them just the green paint. So I guess this one has been leaking for a while though I...
Thank you so much! Very helpful. What do you make of the F and G measurements? Why doesn't the diagram go to the outside and what's the meaning of that little circle?
