What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Sounds like there's your problem. I've never had to crack the injectors. Just pull the gas cap, orange wire, add tube, crank a couple of time and good to go. Is there a leak in your fuel filter assembly?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

It's been the first day of not below zero. Been having a serious power issue from last week. Would bog down and blow blue/white smoke under load. Today I bled the fuel system, changed the filter, 5w40 t6 rotella oil change, topped off coolant, transfer case, and filled the tank along with...

Know anyone with a CUCV? Unless they switched it, their keys will work as a template for a spare.

Unplug the wire to the radio noise suppressor on the side of the truck and plug it directly into the wiper motor. It's useless, and has been known to slow down your wiper motor under certain circumstances. Just another little nook and cranny CUCV thing.

Check GP's, do bypass and good to go. Glad you are on the road. You're right there, might as well bypass the wiper suppressor as well if you haven't already.

It is constant hot but the relay only gets activated by the card or if you ground the blue wire from the card manually. No switch needed.

I guess that is what is happening. When I did the bypass, I removed the 24v feed to the resistor completely.

I understand the procedure and the reasons for doing so having just done it myself this week while putting new GP's in. What I don't understand is why his resistor is smoking if he bypassed it?

If you bypassed the resistor, then how is it receiving power?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Finally got around to the GP resistor bypass. Also changed all the spade connectors and put in 8 new AC 60g's. She hasn't been able to start in a week, even plugged in. Only one was pretty swollen, but was able to gently pry it out without snapping the tip. Of course it was the passenger...

The 3/4" to the nato impact is an awesome (heavy) tool.

Nice little mod today. Found a heavy stainless steel loaf pan online: A quick trip to Ace for some hardware (clasps, handle, nuts & bolts), grabbed an old clamp and a bent a jeep license plate bracket, and viola, road food baby! Perfect for hot dogs, burritos, corn, whatever.

That is a great little mod. Where did you get the cup holders?

How are your driveline angles? What about steering mods? Are you planning on crossover?

I don't come from a military background, but I'm picturing that over-the-top drill Sargent screaming, "SACK UP BOY!" Curious what the trade in value of a '09 is.

Did you file them down ala Doghead, or did you splice new spade connectors?

Care to do a little writeup of the install in another thread? I've been contemplating doing this as well for the reasons you mention. Could be really helpful for others as well.
