Thanks! And today the Unimog hauled another 1.5t trailer from a post 35 miles one way. Good deal, all tools are there and 3 good tires.The guy at the motorpool gave us some tomato plants he grow himself . :) :love:
Our Unimog 406.145 tow truck is a realy family car. It´s a 5 seater. They not so often build a crew cap, but that was the initial ignition for buying our first Unimog.
For better access to engine and trany you can tilt the cab. We do that with the 419 SEE but the pic tilting the crew cab is...
It's great fun to let the kids participate to our hobby. They all can
take tours in all trucks they want. The Unimog tractor is a 5 seater. Two weeks ago we all had fun.
The Unimog 406.145 has a straight 6 diesel engine direct injected with nearly 350 cui / 5,7 l displacement. The trany has 6 fore and 2 rear . You can get on 2 or 4 w/d and with or without lockers. Equipped with a converter (like an automatic) . But you have to change the gears pushing the clutch...
All right. Some details of the trailer. We got this trailer last year from a kind of Government auction. But you can´t see other bids, you have to offer your willing bid. The biggest plus was that the trailer located at a post in the neightborhood. :D Brother take a look at the post, but only...
That was the Crew. While Anna and me stayed for the night last friday in the sleeper cab of the MAN F2000 piggibaging the rough terrain forklift. Brother and son Emil arrived at 7.oo am next morning with the UNIMOG and trailer, Emil is playing the trumpet for call.

For crawling thru the sand , holes, and hills we changed the civilian drawbar to the military one.
